Spiritual Core & Local Culture

Sacred shrines, living history & ceremony that stops a nation

Morning · 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Begin your Punjab journey at the Golden Temple — Harmandir Sahib — one of the world's most breathtaking spiritual sites. Walk the holy Parikrama, take in the serene Sarovar, and immerse yourself in the Darshan experience as hymns float across the sacred water. Stay on for the Langar — the temple's free community kitchen that feeds thousands daily — a deeply humbling and unforgettable experience.

Afternoon · 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Walk to the sobering Jallianwala Bagh — a memorial garden where one of colonial India's darkest chapters unfolded in 1919. Then spend time at the moving Partition Museum, India's first museum dedicated to the 1947 Partition, housing rare personal testimonies and artefacts. A heritage walk through the old city lanes rounds off the afternoon beautifully.

Evening · 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Make your way to the Wagah Border for the electrifying Beating Retreat ceremony — a daily spectacle of military pageantry and patriotism that draws thousands of spectators from both sides of the border. Return to Amritsar for dinner at a legendary local dhaba — don't miss the kulcha, dal makhani and frothy lassi.
