Royal Heritage & Forts
Amber's grandeur, pink city bazaars & Rajput royalty
Morning · 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Begin at the magnificent Amber Fort — allow 2–3 hours to explore its sweeping palace interiors, mirror halls and courtyards. Opt for a jeep ride or elephant ride up to the fort gates for a truly regal arrival.
Make a quick stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal — the Palace of Winds — for photos of its extraordinary honeycomb facade.
Afternoon · 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Explore the opulent City Palace — home to royal apartments, museums and courtyards still used by the Jaipur royal family. Then step into Jantar Mantar, the UNESCO-listed open-air observatory with monumental astronomical instruments.
Evening · 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Lose yourself in the colour and bustle of Jaipur's famous bazaars — Johari Bazaar for jewellery, Bapu Bazaar for textiles and handicrafts. End the evening with an optional cultural dinner at Chokhi Dhani for folk music, dance and traditional Rajasthani thali.
Overnight: Jaipur
Travel Tip: Take an early morning or late-night train to Jodhpur for Day 2.
Forts & the Blue City
Mehrangarh's might, indigo lanes & rooftop sunsets
Morning · 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Explore the colossal Mehrangarh Fort — one of India's largest forts — rising 400 ft above the city. Spend 2–3 hours in the world-class museum, taking in the panoramic views and, if you're feeling daring, trying the optional zipline across the ramparts.
A short walk away, visit the serene Jaswant Thada — a white marble cenotaph with intricate lattice screens, set against the fort backdrop.
Afternoon · 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Wander into the Blue City — the dense maze of indigo-painted houses beneath the fort, a photographer's paradise. Then visit the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the world's largest private residences, with its Art Deco museum wing open to visitors.
Evening · 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Return to the fort viewpoint for a breathtaking sunset over the Blue City. Cap the day with dinner at one of Jodhpur's rooftop restaurants with sweeping city views.
Overnight: Jodhpur
Travel: Late evening train to Udaipur (approx. 5–6 hrs road journey).
Lakes & Romance
Lakeside palaces, garden courts & golden hour on the water
Morning · 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Spend a leisurely 2–3 hours at the majestic City Palace of Udaipur — a stunning blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture cascading down to the lake. Wander through its galleries, courtyards and terraced gardens, then stroll the charming lanes of the old city.
Afternoon · 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Visit Saheliyon ki Bari — the tranquil Garden of the Maidens — with its fountains, marble pavilions and lotus pools. Then explore the local cafés, many perched above the lake with incredible views, perfect for a slow afternoon coffee.
Evening · 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
The unmissable highlight — a 1-hour boat ride on the shimmering Lake Pichola, gliding past the fairy-tale Lake Palace and the Jag Mandir island. Stay on for sunset views and a romantic lakeside dinner to close the day.
